Colin Mackey
Born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Colin Mackey has found great fulfilment performing in opera, musical theatre, concert, and choral settings. Recent highlights include Adonis in Venus and Adonis (Glenn Gould School), Bob in Old Maid and the Thief, Le Director in Les mamelles de Tirésias, Zoroastro in Orlando (Opera McGill) and Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen with the McGill Schoenberg Ensemble. Colin is fortunate to maintain an active teaching, singing, and conducting schedule. Recently, Colin made his Toronto conducting debut with the St. Michael’s Boy Choir at their Massey Hall Christmas concert. In the Spring, Colin completed his master’s degree at McGill University, studying with Matthew Treviño and Michael McMahon. Currently, Colin studies with Jason Howard and Jennifer Tung at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory.
